Hornby Railways - picks up the story in January 1972 following the collapse of the Tri-ang Group and with Rovex in the hands of Dunbee Combex Marx. Tri-ang Hornby had been renamed Hornby Railways and Wrenn Railways had become an independent rival. New challenges from Airfix and Palitoy needed to be faced while DCM slid into receivership. Rovex, now renamed Hornby Hobbies, became an independent company for the first time in 30 years and, with competition falling away from them on all sides, they forged their way through the 1980s. The story finishes in the mid 1990s with Hornby having to face up to a new challenge from Bachmann and, once again, strong action was needed to protect their position as Britain's leading brand. 635 colour illustrations.
