Since the thirteenth century the Venetian island of Murano has been the centre of Italian glass production. Early in the twentieth century Murano re-established its dominance in the world of art glass by mixing traditional craft with the innovative designs of modern artists and sculptors. Anzolo Fuga played a prominent role in its renaissance. A multi-faceted artist from a glass-making dynasty, Fuga created designs for A. V.
